Diley Greiser is in her seventh year as a Firefighter II/Paramedic for CAL FIRE. As a firefighter paramedic, Diley delivers emergency medical care to patients on-scene at all kinds of incidents. She also performs traditional firefighting duties, including traffic collisions, hose line operations, fire suppression and dealing with hazardous materials incidents.
Growing up in Cuba, Diley never dreamed that becoming a firefighter was possible for her, but when her family exiled to the United States, she witnessed the heroics of a crew of firefighters which ignited a lifelong passion. It was a long road for Diley to become a firefighter; she missed out on time with her kids and failed her first fire academy, but her drive and determination got her through and she has recently transferred to one of CAL FIRE's busiest stations in Riverside County.
Diley is passionate about her job and her goal is to find the balance between being a strong firefighter, the best wife, and a good mother to her three sons, while she makes time for herself.
Outside of her work at CAL FIRE, one of Diley's priorities is to give her time to her community which is where she formed a non-profit organization - Rena's Dresses – in honor of her daughter, who died at childbirth and her husband's sister who died suddenly as a teenager. The charity provides prom dresses, makeup and support for girls who otherwise could not afford them.
