Monday Matters: Acts of Faith by Iyanla VanzantPosted: Mon 10/01/2012 02:04 PM
I have been so busy taping more episodes for Iyanla: Fix My Life that
I am going to share yet another excerpt from one of my books, Acts of Faith
as today's Monday Matters. This book is my homework assignment that I
am sharing with the world. It represents all that I have learned about
and grown through. I believe it has affected so many people so deeply
because they are in the same life classroom in which I once sat. People
want to give me the credit, but I know the success of Acts of Faith
has nothing to do with me. It is the result of so many people being
willing to attend life's school. It is the outgrowth of so many of us
being willing to learn and to find a better way of living. It is an
answer to the silent prayer so many of us have uttered: "Oh God, please
help me!" Acts of Faith has been an anchor, a rock and a guide to so many people because God always answers our prayers. Jose Chavez Checks InPosted: Wed 09/26/2012 10:35 AM
Beloveds, I hope you'll take a minute out of your day to read this and focus on just how important you are and the lives you are changing. Because of you, truths are told, sins are forgiven and desperation is changing to triumph. Please stop, for just a minute and let that sink in. It's all because of you and your support for our show, Iyanla: Fix My Life on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network that this is happening! I have just received a letter from Jose Chavez. You might remember him from last weekend's episode where we visited his family after his Mother had confessed that his Father wasn't who he thought he was. Read what is happening Beloveds, because of YOU and your support for this life-changing work on TV! ♥ ~ -------------------------- I just want to thank you guys for the amazing job you did with my family's story. I can only imagine how tough it is to fit everything in with only an hour to work with. I have received hundreds of emails, not to mention messages on Facebook, from others around the country going through this experience, and each person has thanked me for putting my story out there. I have mothers telling me that they now have the strength to tell their children the truth. I have sons and daughters telling me they are willing to forgive their parents, and listen to what they have to say. I have kids telling me they don't feel ashamed to seek their fathers out, with hopes of starting some sort of relationship. I have even been asked to speak to some teenagers, who have been told the truth, and are not dealing with it very well. It's a beautiful thing! Truth is, you guys gave me the platform... this could have been done by anybody going through this, but I thank you for giving me a shot. I felt so lonely (and I am sure my mother would tell you the same) for such a long time, because I felt like I was the only one going through it. Well, I am not... not by a long shot. Now, because of Iyanla, Oprah, and the amazing staff you guys have put together, others wont feel that loneliness anymore. My family may not be "fixed" or perfect, but we are definitely headed in that direction. Time and communication will help us heal. Please pass this along to Terry, Iyanla, Oprah, and everyone involved in this project. I truly don't have enough words to show my gratitude towards everyone involved. It's amazing to see how much one can grow up when a spiritual person, like Iyanla, opens your mind up. I hope I can continue to help kids, who are in my shoes, deal with their emotions after life changing news are presented to them... and I have you guys to thank for it. If I can come out of that tunnel and live a happy life, so can anyone else :) Have an amazing week, and if you guys ever need anything from me, let me know. I am all yours. Jose Chavez Advertisement
