A Salt Lake City native, Brooks' enthusiasm for carpentry and design was ignited at age 12 while assisting his father on home building sites. Brooks now has his own company focusing on interior design, home remodeling and custom landscaping. Numerous homeowners including some well-known celebrities have benefited from his experience and unique creativity. At the age of 22, Brooks started working in Arizona for a top landscaping design company. Brooks started his own company shortly thereafter. He designed, remodeled, and was commissioned to custom landscaping projects, including custom and commercial waterfalls. Brooks' once passion turned career. Building in extreme climates, Brooks became the MacGyver of taking materials and transforming them into repurposed design. This was the inspiration to his Eco building methods.

After moving to Los Angeles in 2002, Brooks joined HGTV's Designed to Sell team where he combined his construction expertise with his unending passion for renovation.

When Brooks isn't working on home improvement shows, building sets for movies and TV, he spends time consulting in Eco Building, Survival Dwellings, and is known for his hard work to make it all come together.
