Oprah: How Greenleaf Fits into My Mission

Season 1
CC | tv-pg
Greenleaf, Oprah says, is just the next step in her lifelong passion for sharing stories.

"I don't think there's anything greater, actually, than our ability as human beings to tell our story, and to have that story listened to and actually heard by others," Oprah says. "Since I was a little girl growing up in a church in Mississippi, I've been telling stories. I've been telling stories through The Oprah Show, through the Oprah magazine, through interviews on OWN, and now, this is just another form for me of sharing stories that matter."

This is a continuation, she says, of sharing themes within the human experience that have the power to make you feel something."I mean, there isn't a hashtag big enough to really announce how big it is for me that we are now in the business—the real business—of scripted television."

Tune in for the two-night season premiere at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Tuesday, June 21, and 9 p.m. ET/PT on Wednesday, June 22. The remaining episodes in the 13-episode season will air regularly on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
