Early in their relationship Alfreda knew Tedric was someone special and she wanted to introduce him to her best friend - her father. Alfreda was her father’s caregiver while he suffered from failing kidneys and Alzheimer’s disease. There were many days her father did not recognize her, but she treasures the memories of him treating her like a princess and talking about the wedding he hoped to give her. He made Alfreda promise not to elope so he could walk her down the aisle. He died in April. Although Alfreda is elated to be a bride, the absence of her father will be felt. She believes many of the qualities of her father are also in Tedric, except Tedric has yet to truly learn how to put Alfreda’s desires before his own. He has a reputation for making decisions solely based on his wants. Maid of Honor Maricela hopes Tedric will take the opportunity to show Alfreda that he can put her needs first and remember the extra special importance of the wedding.
