Thank You!

We have started our third week on Big Bowl of Love. When I was first given this opportunity to have a cooking show on Oprah’s new network I couldn’t believe that this was truly happening to me. I pinch myself every single day. I feel it is an enormous responsibility and a privilege to come into your home and present my ideas and share them with you. I feel the same way about OWN and the people I work with.  I have been waiting for well over two years for the launch of the Network and during that time I have had plenty of time to think about the enormity of this historic endeavor and how to best represent and live up to the expectations of Oprah Winfrey and her vision. I am so thrilled to have been given this opportunity.

I want to take this time to say thank you for watching and that I am overwhelmed with the amount of encouraging feed back. I want you to know that I check the message boards daily to make sure that you are happy with the shows, satisfied with the recipes, if you are upset with something that needs to be addressed, or just want to leave me an encouraging note! I love hearing from you and I hope you continue to write me. We are in the kitchen together. Cooking is about family, food and conversation. You are welcome in my home always and the only way to stay connected is to reach out and keep the conversation going.  We have had a few glitches in the beginning with the recipes not being correct on the web and we have been working super hard to correct all that. Thank you for your patience.

I intend to write my blogs and you can reach me either through the message boards or on

Sending Big Bowls of Love!

Totally Italian

I invited two of my friends to my kitchen to show me once and for all the secret to their incredible meatballs! Fran and Jamie Alba own a chain of Italian restaurants called Sisley. I am obsessed with their meatballs and every time I asked them for the recipe they politely declined. I had been asking for years!

FINALLY they agreed to come on and show me how it is done and reveal the secret as to why they are so tender and moist! They also started a line of food products for vegetarians and share their recipe for a "Veggie chicken" Parmesan that tastes like real chicken!

A Special Note to Viewers

I have been checking the message board everyday since it has been up. I realize there have been many mistakes in the recipes that have been posted. I apologize to all you of who want to make the recipes only to find pieces that are missing, measurements that are not correct and instructions that do not match the videos. Thank you for pointing out the mistakes and for your patience. We are working to correction this situation.

Thank you.

Sincerely,

Cristina Ferrare
