Cristina's Pantry
Round out your pantry with these spices and staples
Cristina cooks up a storm using items from her well-stocked pantry. Here are a few more items you should consider keeping in your pantry.
-Dried Ginger. Great for making a quick marinade with soy sauce.
-Cardamom. A super secret ingredient for pancakes, oatmeal, and cookies
-Powdered Chipotle. A sprinkle of smoky powdered chipotle enlivens cheeses, eggs -- anything
-Smoked Paprika. Great for adding to rice recipes or sprinkling over a dish of olives drizzled with olive oil.
-Canned baby clams. Make a quick clam sauce by sautéing some garlic and dried red peppers, simmering with the clam liquor, and then tossing over pasta with the clams.

More Items for Your Pantry
-Canned pumpkin. Don't just make pancakes. Make pumpkin pancakes! Waffles, too.
-Sweetened condensed milk. You can make dulce de leche from it, among other uses.
-Olives in a Jar. Never be without a quick and easy appetizer. Remove olives from their brine, drizzle with olive oil, and microwave for 15 seconds.
-Anchovies. Great to have for pizza or an impromptu Caesar salad.
-Dried whole red peppers. Saute a sprinkling of chopped dried peppers with garlic, chop in a few veggies to wilt, and toss with pasta.
