Born and raised by a single mother in New Orleans, Ms. Campbell is a second-generation alumnus of John McDonogh High School. Her mother was not only a student, but she also taught at JMHS. After graduating near the top of her class at John Mac, Irnessa attended Southern University in New Orleans, and later, received her masters from Texas Southern University. Irnessa pursued teaching to continue her mother's legacy and believes that every child deserves a teacher who is more than a teacher. In her own words, "I owe John McDonogh a great deal because it helped mold me into a well-rounded woman.' 'Now, I'm here to do the same for these young men and woman." Irnessa is a proud mother to three beautiful girls.
