When my kids leave the nest, yes, I want them to know to separate their darks from their whites, to budget their money, and be responsible and polite, but I also want them to know how to nourish their bodies. Whether you have the means to spoil your loved ones with fancy gifts, or not, I still think that the gift of cooking for someone is one of the greatest ways to make people feel loved. I’d like to share with you a few of my favorite ideas on paying food forward, and I hope you’ll give at least a few of these a try!

Let’s get one thing straight: everyone can cook. Everyone! Even if you’ve never picked up a spatula, even if the idea of making toast puzzles you, even if your kitchen is smaller than a bathtub and missing a stove, even if you have twelve kids (all under the age of 5), even if, even if, even if... you can cook, and cook well.
