Despite his dominance on the basketball court, LeBron still idolizes his childhood hero, Michael Jordan. "Man, meeting Michael Jordan for me was, like...black Jesus walking towards me," LeBron says. "It was overwhelming to me to finally meet the guy I've looked up to my whole life."
In honor of his hero, LeBron chose the number 23 for his jersey—just like Mike.
"Oh, man, that's my inspiration in basketball, to see what he did on the court and to see what he did off the court," LeBron says. "I didn't think there was [another] number to wear."
Let's hope number 23 is as lucky for LeBron as it was for Michael when the playoffs come around next year. "I think long term, in basketball, the ultimate goal is to win the NBA championship," Lebron says. "My life won't be satisfied without winning an NBA championship."
