While touring to promote The Sound of Music, Charmian met Jay Brent. They married and had two daughters. She continued acting for a while but ended her career in show business after deciding to stay home and raise her children. In 1991, Charmian and Jay divorced. Once her daughters grew up, Charmian started an interior design company and wrote two books about her experience playing Liesl: Forever Liesl and Letters to Liesl. |
