Jesse Metcalfe plays John the gardener

On the runaway success, Desperate Housewives, Jesse Metcalfe plays John Rowland, the 18-year-old gardener that Gabrielle, played by Eva Longoria, has been having an affair with. This 26-year-old actor says he's only now starting to see what the success of the show and his bona fide heartthrob status mean. "I'm still not used to it," he says. "Things have settled down a little bit. I've gotten to smell the roses, so to speak, and enjoy the success of the show. ... It's still surreal and kind of weird, but flattering."
Ricardo Antonio Chavira plays Carlos Solis

Like Jesse, it has taken time for Ricardo Antonio Chavira, who plays Gabrielle's husband, Carlos Solis, on Desperate Housewives, to understand the meaning of the show's success.

Ricardo says his first realization of fame came months ago. "I guess when I had to come up to Chicago to do the Thanksgiving Day parade," he says, "and just walking down Michigan Avenue and people were saying, 'Oh, my God, that's the guy from Desperate Housewives.'"
James Denton plays Mike

The rapid rise to the top for Desperate Housewives has certainly changed the fame status of these stars. James Denton, who plays the sexy plumber, Mike Delfino, says he noticed it the first time he left Los Angeles.

"I guess in Los Angeles people are used to seeing people they recognize. When I went to New York to do some press, people were quicker to stop me. And that's when I realized: we've only been on two months; we've only been on 10 or 12 episodes now. That's what's so crazy. When you get out of L.A. and you're around people that aren't in the business you realize how widespread the following is."

In fact, while they were all in Chicago, James, Jesse and Ricardo were walking together along Michigan Avenue. "This girl stopped next to us at the crosswalk," James says. She looked at all three of them and James explains she said, "'So, like, you three guys are just going to walk around like it's no big deal?'"
James, Jesse and Ricardo

When we found a group of friends who throw a Desperate Housewives party every Sunday night, and that their wildest dream was to meet James, Jesse and Ricardo, how could we resist sending the guys over? After all, that's the business we're in for this Wildest Dreams season.

The unsuspecting group of women thought they were being interviewed about their Sunday night ritual, but little did they know these three Hollywood hunks were standing outside!
The guys and the fans

And were they ever surprised! Just as they were revealing their Desperate fantasies, James, Jesse and Ricardo burst into their apartment to say hello.

To top it off, the guys presented these fans with tickets to see them on The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Teri and James

The leading ladies of Desperate Housewives had a little something they wanted their male co-stars to know.

"Hi, Jamie," says Teri, who plays Susan. Susan dates Mike, James' character. "I hope you're having a good time in Chicago—and I'm sure you are with Oprah. But can you bring me some of those Chicago dogs and maybe, like, a deep-dish pizza? I'm thinking if I eat all that right before one of our love scenes, at least I won't smell like coffee."
Eva and Ricardo

Eva had a message for Ricardo who plays her on-screen husband. "Hey, Ricardo, it's Eva. Hi. I'm sure you can hear my laugh all the way from Chicago. Thanks for being the most awesome guy a girl can work with."
Eva and Jesse

Eva had another message to send from Wisteria Lane all the way to Chicago. "Jesse, Jesse, Jesse: What can I say about you?" she asks. "I think your charisma should be bottled and sold to every young actor trying to make it in Hollywood. I love you, honey. And stop saying I have bad breath. I don't have bad breath."
