Dina Matos McGreevey Breaks Her Silence

Dina says she spent the following days talking to her husband about his alleged relationship and preparing for the press conference. "He had 40-some years to prepare for this moment and the future that he thought might happen, and I only had three days to prepare. I had all kinds of emotions, and I was at war with myself," she says. "In the course of the three days of his explanation and confession to me, it was clear to me that he never loved me," she says. "I didn't think so." On the day of the news conference, Dina was dealt another blow as she read the speech Jim had prepared. "The first time I saw [the words] I am a gay American was two hours before the press conference," she says. "He never told me, 'I am gay.'" |
