A boy who filmed his mother being beaten speaks out. Then 13 years old, he remembers his abusive father looking for a tape recorder while beating his mother, so the young boy retrieved a video camera to stay in his good graces. Although he knew his father was wrong, he describes his household as survival of the fittest, and so the whole family did what they could to protect themselves from domestic violence .
