Oprah's first season opener was more than just a season premiere. On September 8, 1986, her first syndicated show hit the airwaves. Though it was her national debut, Oprah says she wasn't nervous. "I had been up most of the night reflecting about the long journey to that moment," she says. "I wrote in my journal, 'I wonder if my life will change...I thank God for the opportunity.' I was very much aware of the magnitude of the moment." |
