  • Increasing alcohol or drug use
  • Withdrawing from friends, family and society
  • Feeling anxious or agitated, being unable to sleep or sleeping all the time
  • Experiencing dramatic mood changes
  • Seeing no reason for living or having no sense of purpose in life
