Oprah loves a good pet rescue, and this remarkable story out of Rochester Hills, Michigan, certainly caught her attention. Dorothy and Vern were working at their local flea market when a 70-mile-per-hour wind sent Tinker Bell, their 6-pound Chihuahua, flying through the air.
Dorothy and Vern searched for Tinker Bell for two days. Even with the help of more than 50 volunteers, their search turned up nothing. It wasn't until they called a local radio station that they found the help they really needed.
On the radio show, Dorothy and Vern were introduced to Lorrie, a pet psychic. Lorrie says she could visualize Tinker Bell's whereabouts. "We had our reading, and I asked them if they checked in the area behind the Aldi's," she says."I wanted to make sure that Dorothy and Vern knew that Tinker Bell was okay."
Dorothy and Vern followed Lorrie's advice and went to the Aldi's, about three-quarters of a mile away from the flea market. "She told us to look up instead of down, so I started at the bottom and started working my way up to the gully in the woods," Vern says. "I started calling her name, and she came running to me."
Tinker Bell is safe at home, with no major injuries. "She was very tired, hungry and thirsty. She had mud and burrs all over her when Vern found her," Dorothy says. "It's a miracle that we even got her back."
