The Pay It Forward Challenge

Nicole Stallworth decides she wants to use her money to help a school—but, she isn't sure how to pick one! A friend tells her about Wells Elementary Preparatory School on the city's South Side. Ninety-seven percent of the school's students come from low-income families, but despite the difficult circumstances, their attendance rate is 93 percent! Nicole decides it is the perfect place for her to use her challenge money.

According to teachers who greet the students every morning, many children lack proper clothes for Chicago's blistery winter weather. Oftentimes their coats are too thin or they have broken zippers. Most students don't have hats and gloves either.

That is where Nicole steps in! She gives the school her challenge money to buy coats and uniforms for the children.

The school thanks Nicole by making her honorary principal for the day!
