Daintree

After fun in the sun at Hamilton Island, some of our Ultimate Viewers were ready for an eco-adventure in Daintree.

Where We Stayed:

Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa: This award-winning resort features just 15 tranquil rooms, or "bayans," nestled among the world's oldest living rainforest. Connected by a series of boardwalks, the resort provides the utmost in accommodation, natural beauty, gourmet delights and an exciting array of adventures.

Where We Ate:

Julaymba Restaurant: The restaurant takes its name from the local Kuku Yalanji word for Daintree River. The innovative menu features fresh local produce and indigenous nuts, berries and seeds.

What We Did:

Down Under Tours: Tropical North Queensland's premium tour and transportation operator for over 20 years.

Aboriginal Guided Rainforest Walk: Walk to a nearby natural waterfall with healing powers. Gain a glimpse into the local Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal history, culture, traditions and rainforest life.

Julaymba Gallery Interactive Aboriginal Art & Culture Workshop: Create your own Aboriginal-inspired masterpiece to take home using earthy colors or ochres from the waterfall. Interact in a natural and relaxed atmosphere.

Daintree River Experience Cruise: Experience the majestic Daintree River in a comfortable seat. Let your guide take you where neither feet nor car can go, pointing out wildlife for you to photograph. Ask questions and learn about the plants, birds and crocodiles in the area. Or, soak up the history of the Daintree area.

Great Barrier Reef Helicopters: One of the largest and most experienced helicopter operators in Tropical North Queensland will take you over the rugged and remote Daintree Rainforest and over the sparkling sapphire blue waters of the Great Barrier Reef. This is the only place on earth where two world-heritage sites sit side by side.
