Byron Bay

Byron Bay, located on the North Coast of New South Wales, offers beautiful landscapes and a thriving art scene. During their visit, our Ultimate Viewers tried everything from surfing and kayaking with dolphins to snorkeling and yoga on the beach.

Where We Stayed:

The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa: Get inspired by nature at The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa. Located within 45 acres of verdant rainforest, The Byron at Byron Resort and Spa seamlessly flows from indoors to outdoors, blending into its natural rainforest setting close to the beach. Relax in cane lounges scattered on the wide verandas before dipping into the infinity pool, poolside sauna or luxurious day spa.

Where We Ate:

The Byron at Byron Restaurant: Dining at The Byron at Byron gives you a chance to taste the high-quality produce from the Northern Rivers. The resort restaurant menus are seasonal; the style is contemporary Australian served in a relaxing open-plan dining area with a breathtaking rainforest backdrop.

Beach Café: Perfectly positioned on absolute beach frontage, the Byron Beach Café offers indoor and outdoor dining with spectacular views. This local icon is a breezy café by day, a destination restaurant by night and a stunning event venue.

Fishheads Byron Bay: Indulge in the freshest seasonal seafood while relaxing in a beachfront contemporary environment. Local seafood and wine ensure you'll enjoy the best of New South Wales' produce.

Harvest Cafe: Located in the Byron hinterland, Harvest serves a contemporary Australian menu using local produce and focusing on seasonal produce. You'll enjoy easy, country charm in this pretty 1900s cottage with its rambling veranda and enormous jacaranda tree.

What We Saw:

Crystal Castle: Located in a beautiful location amidst lush rainforest and green hills, Crystal Castle is simply stunning. Wander through gardens with mystic statues, explore the labyrinth and enjoy the natural beauty of Byron Bay. You can buy jewelry, books and gifts, as well as crystals from around the world.

Cape Byron and Byron Bay Lighthouse: Built in 1901 and situated on the most easterly point of mainland Australia, this historic lighthouse commands spectacular views over the ocean, beaches and hinterland. Whatever the weather, you're likely to see dolphins and turtles, whales in season and the small wallabies that inhabit the Cape.

What We Did:

BlackDog Surfing: At BlackDog Surf School Byron Bay, you'll learn about surf safety, technique and the pristine environment in which you're surfing. You'll also stand up on your board after one lesson—guaranteed or your money back!

Go Sea Kayaking: Enjoy an amazing ocean experience in your own kayak in the crystal clear waters around Julian Rocks Marine Reserve at Byron Bay. See Byron Bay Lighthouse on the headland, dolphins, turtles and even whales during their annual migration along the coast.

Byron Bay Dive Center: Julian Rocks is one of the few dive sites where you can swim with tropical species found on the Great Barrier Reef, as well animals from Australia's deep Southern Ocean. Be amazed by sea turtles, corals, mantas and more than 1,000 different species of fish. All this is just a five-minute boat ride from Byron Bay.

The Spa and Wellness Center, The Byron at Byron: The spa menu takes inspiration from the rainforest and the invigorating essence of the ocean with treatments using native Australian ingredients. A signature treatment, followed by a meditation walk through the rainforest, will help you feel rejuvenated.

Yoga on the Beach at The Byron at Byron: The perfect way to start the day in Byron Bay is with a complimentary yoga class on the beach.
