For the past 20 years, one shoe has been the vanguard of athletic wear for both fashion and technology: Nike's Air Jordans. In fact, more than 100 million pairs of Air Jordans have walked the earth! Though they've undergone hundreds of changes and additions, they're still made to Michael Jordan's personal specifications. One was inspired by a black cat, another by World War II fighter planes, and another was designed with words like "Independence," "Freedom," and "Hope" written in all different languages.
However, the brand has always been exclusively for men…until now! Nike is unveiling its Jordan Women's Collection. Check out some of the hot gear.
"You should have seen all the letters that I was getting from women, saying, 'When are you going to come out with a ladies' line?''' Michael says. Previously, women who wanted Air Jordan sportswear would have to buy smaller men's or boys' sizes. But, Michael says, "this year we really made a big push. We said, 'You know what? We're going to cater to the ladies.'"
