One Mom's Beehive Hairdo Gets a 21st-Century Update

Aired on 05/06/2002 | CC tv-pg
Every Wednesday at 5:30 a.m., Joan Irvine woke up and began the four-hour process of doing her hair for the week. The required tools included a brush, four different kinds of rollers and enough hairpins to raise the suspicion of airport security. The end result was a perfectly sculpted beehive that looked like it belonged in the '50s.

Joan's daughters, Cindy and Christine, wanted to see their denim-clad mother get the modern update she deserved. Watch to find out what she looked like after a session with a team of professional stylists.
