In addition to Ocean's Twelve, Don Cheadle has another new film coming out this December. The haunting Hotel Rwanda is a true story about a hotel manager who saved more than a thousand people's lives during the 1994 Rwandan genocide, in which nearly a million people were slaughtered.
Don's performance is being touted as one of the best of the year, but he was most concerned about pleasing just one viewer: Paul Rusesabagina, the real-life hero he portrayed.
Oprah: Has he seen the film?
Don: We saw it in a screening room, and he sat right next to me! I was like, "Why does he have to sit next to me?" He saw the film and he reached over and put his hand on my arm. He didn't really say much.
Oprah: He didn't?
Don: He feels so vindicated that the film was even made, that people are hearing his voice. So if no one else sees it…. Please go see it! But if no one else sees it, it's enough for him, because his story has been heard.
