Matt Damon on celebrity friendships

Matt Damon stars along with some of Hollywood's favorite leading men in Ocean's Twelve—George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Don Cheadle, Bernie Mac…the list goes on! Matt says that it didn't take him very long to decide to sign on for the Ocean's Eleven sequel—he was excited to team up with his old friends again.

"To do a movie with Steven Soderbergh, the director, is incredible," Matt says. "The decision to do both of these movies, for me, if you add it together, is 45 seconds. [Steven] kind of got out half of his pitch and I said, 'Yes, I'll do it.' … And the friendships that kind of came out of the first one really did sustain. I mean, a lot of times, you know what it's like. It's really hard."
Matt Damon talks about friendship with Ben Affleck

Matt's first big shot to stardom was when he and childhood pal Ben Affleck won an Oscar® for Best Original Screenplay for 1997's Good Will Hunting.

Oprah: How's your friend Ben [Affleck]? Are you all still as tight as you were?

Matt:Yeah, forever we will be. We've seen each other less in the last few years than at any other point in our lives, because we've been working so much, but I saw him last month when he hosted Saturday Night Live. He stayed at my house and we hung out a little bit. He's [shooting a film] in Vancouver, and I've been in Dubai doing another movie with George, [Syriana].
Bernie Mac ranks the super-hunks

You loved him in Ocean's Eleven, and now one of America's favorite funny men is back in Ocean's Twelve. Bernie Mac spoke via satellite from the set of his hit TV series, The Bernie Mac Show. He's been on the mend from a case of double pneumonia that he says stems from working on three films at the same time.

Bernie jokes about some of his handsome Ocean's Twelve co-stars. "If you look at Matt Damon over there, you'd be, like, 'Damn, who was that? Who was that?'" Bernie said. "And if you look at George Clooney, you'd be like, 'Damn, he's real nice.' Brad Pitt is just too damn fine. He's too damn fine. You have to flip a coin: man or a woman? He's pretty."
Don Cheadle

In addition to Ocean's Twelve, Don Cheadle has another new film coming out this December. The haunting Hotel Rwanda is a true story about a hotel manager who saved more than a thousand people's lives during the 1994 Rwandan genocide, in which nearly a million people were slaughtered.

Don's performance is being touted as one of the best of the year, but he was most concerned about pleasing just one viewer: Paul Rusesabagina, the real-life hero he portrayed.

Oprah: Has he seen the film?

Don: We saw it in a screening room, and he sat right next to me! I was like, "Why does he have to sit next to me?" He saw the film and he reached over and put his hand on my arm. He didn't really say much.

Oprah: He didn't?

Don: He feels so vindicated that the film was even made, that people are hearing his voice. So if no one else sees it…. Please go see it! But if no one else sees it, it's enough for him, because his story has been heard.
