Miley's not the first famous member of her family. Her dad, Billy Ray, topped the country charts in 1992 with his single "Achy Breaky Heart." Fifteen years later, his music career is still going strong with his new album Home at Last.
Billy Ray has found a different kind of popularity by playing Miley's TV dad in Hannah Montana. How does it feel to be the real-life father of a teenage phenomenon? "When I read the script [for Hannah Montana], I felt like it was very well written, and I felt like Miley was Hannah Montana and Hannah Montana was Miley," Billy Ray says. "Together they make a really strong package."
Between taping the show and singing together, Miley spends a lot of time with her dad. "It's fun," Miley says. "He's my best friend." But Miley says Billy Ray has an even closer friend, named Tex. "[My dad] is my best friend, but his best friend is our dog," she jokes. "On our way here, we were in a jet and the dog took the couch and I had to sit on the armrest of the couch so the dog could sleep!"
