Aired on 02/20/2004 | CC tv-pg
Donald Trump—the real estate magnate, reality star and now 2016 presidential candidate—has an impressive résumé, but perhaps the job he takes most seriously is his role as a father. In 2004, the Donald came on The Oprah Winfrey Show, where viewers got a glimpse of what being a Trump was all about, including family life.

Daughter Ivanka Trump was interviewed about what growing up with a billionaire as a father was like for her. Discussing her strict parents, Ivanka said, "It was very important to them that we basically didn't grow up as brats who took everything for granted."

Despite growing up in the public eye, Ivanka admitted that she had never wanted to be an "it" girl and instead was looking forward to following in her father's footsteps so that she might one day preserve and add to his legacy.
