John Lewis

Congressman John Lewis, Now

Since then: Head of SNCC from 1963 to 1966. A keynote speaker at the March on Washington in 1963. One of the leaders of the Selma March in 1965. Served on the Atlanta city council from 1981 to 1987. Has represented Georgia's 5th congressional district, which includes Atlanta and the surrounding area, in the House of Representatives since 1987.
