When India returned to the United States, she says she was so inspired by the young girls at the academy that she decided to write a song for them.
"I saw them and I saw myself in them. I wanted to sing a song to them that I wish somebody would have told me [when I was that age]—that there is nothing wrong with you," she says. "It doesn't matter what you're shaped like or what color your skin is or none of that. There's nothing you can't do. ... You're brilliant."
India even let Oprah's girls choose the name of the song—"Beautiful Flower." Now, India's here to perform the song publicly for the very first time.
