What a difference 15 years makes! In 1996, SNL writer and actor Al Franken—best known for his goofy, self-help spouting Stuart Smalley character—appeared on The Oprah Show with Arianna Huffington. At the time, Al was described as a liberal comedian and Arianna was described as a right-wing columnist and author. Today, Al is a U.S. senator from Minnesota and Arianna is the founding editor and namesake of the left-leaning website The Huffington Post. |
