Essence Cares is an urgent call to action to galvanize the black community to address the state of emergency impacting our children's lives. The primary goals of the Essence Cares mentoring movement are:
To enlist millions of black adults to mentor our vulnerable young people who are crying out for our help, love and support.
To reshape public policy by raising our collective voice so that failing schools in this nation are safe and equipping youth with the values, academic, economic and social skills they need to become productive and contributing citizens.
