My Life Is A Joke: Meet Natalie
Natalie Jose has been performing standup comedy in Chicago for over three years. Her standup is narrative based and Time Out Chicago called her "brassy" and "hilarious." Born in Indiana, Natalie moved around a bit as a child and spent the majority of her childhood in Sewickley, PA and her formative years in Naperville, a suburb of Chicago. <br><br> After obtaining a Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University, Natalie returned to Chicago for artistic pursuits. Natalie trained at iO in Chicago and performed improv during that time before realizing her comedic voice was better suited to standup comedy. She has performed at Studio Be, Stage Left, Stage 773, The Playground and at local comedy showcases such as Entertaining Julia, The Kates and Chicago Underground Comedy. She recently performed at The Mayne Stage and also performed in the First Annual Chicago Women's Funny Festival. Natalie hosted and produced her own monthly standup show called Crown Comedy which later became a part off Shinebox Comedy. As a co-producer of Shinebox Comedy, she helps to produce two monthly shows in the Logan Square neighborhood of Chicago. <br><br> In addition to comedy, Natalie sings in three bands, The Sweats, Meatbute, and the Weepn' Willows. She enjoys biking around the city and shooting pool and is an avid reader and lover of photography. Natalie dreams of a day when she can sleep in, give up her desk job and support herself through art.
