We are pleased to hear of the capture of Ernest Edgar Thomas, Jr. and applaud the collaborative efforts of local, state and federal authorities that led to his capture in Altoona, Pennsylvania. Both the FBI and the U.S. Marshall Service have informed us that this arrest was not the result of an Oprah viewer tip.
Thomas has been convicted of rape and 10 other related counts. He was sentenced to 50-100 years, 50 of which he must serve under Pennsylvania's second strike law.
