Don't Be Matchy-Matchy
Patricia met Carson on the Jersey Shore boardwalk and asked for his official fashion opinion. "You have a sassy style, and maybe this is good for rocking the boardwalk, but it might be a bit much," Carson says. "Maybe [it's] too much of all one color because it looks like a uniform a little bit."

To break up the red, Carson paired Patricia's jacket with dark denim jeans. "You can still rock the coordinating accessories, but then it won't look so much like you're like the international ambassador for the color red," Carson jokes.

Leggings Are Not Pants
Leggings are a big trend for 2010, and Carson says they can be a great layering piece. "You can wear a cute skirt over it. You can wear a dress over it and tall boots," he says. "It's a great way to lengthen the leg."

But Carson has a word of warning. "You have to remember one thing with leggings—they're not pants!" he says. "Generally, wear something over them, okay?"

Match Your Shoes with Your Belt
In Atlantic City, New Jersey, Carson comes across a guy who needs a little accessory assistance. He wants to know, once and for all, do shoes and belts need to match?

"There's nothing wrong with mixing black and brown," Carson says. "But you want to keep the belt, in general, the same color as your shoes."

Wear Color
"Wearing your favorite color makes you feel better—we have an emotional reaction to color," Carson says. "It just freshens up your life."

Know Your Trends
"Find out what works for you and your body type and what makes you feel gorgeous and amazing, and really embrace that," Carson says. "Looking great is like anything else—if you don't know what you're doing, ask for help, learn, educate yourself."

Be Confident
"I think 90 percent of looking good is your attitude and being confident in pulling it off," Carson says.
