Martha
Best Friends Animal Society started as a special haven in southern Utah
for about 2,000 dogs, cats and other animals who have come to the sanctuary from
shelters and rescue groups across the country. These animals have special
needs—they might need help getting around, extra medicines or a home that has no
other pets or children. They are not for everyone but with the right amount of
love and attention they can be a valued member of your family. Best Friends
works hard to find good homes for the animals whose beauty runs a lot more than
just skin-deep.
Martha was rescued out of Hurricane Katrina and lived in a Tennessee animal shelter before coming to Best Friends. Whenever she gets a visitor, she gives kisses and begs to be taken home. She'll gladly roll on her belly for a tickle the moment she meets you. Martha would be excellent for a family with children or a single person. Her manners are good, and she's great with everybody, but she does need to be the only dog in the house.
