Vanessa Williams and Jillian and Melanie Hervey

Film, television and Broadway star Vanessa Williams and her daughters, Jillian and Melanie Hervey, model what Adam calls the "go-to skirt". "Every woman needs a pencil skirt because it looks great on everyone," he says. "Every shape and every age."

Adam says Vanessa is ready for day and night. "Vanessa is doing a very sexy and sophisticated look that could easily go from the office to a cocktail party."

Jillian rocks a more youthful take on the classic skirt. "Jillian is doing an '80s rocker chic, which young people are really picking up on now. "

Adam says Melanie's keeping it short and sweet. "Melanie's doing the mini pencil skirt with the little leather jacket," Adam says. "This jacket's incredible because a little leather jacket will never go out of style."

Jane Seymour and Katie Flynn

Emmy- and Golden Globe–winning actress Jane Seymour and her daughter, aspiring actress Katie Flynn, are getting in touch with their wild sides in animal prints. "For me, they are a neutral. They go with everything," Adam says. "In a weird way, they match nothing, but they go with everything."

When it comes to neutral, Adam has another fashion favorite—the nude shoe. "The nude shoe instantly makes you look thinner and taller," he says.

Adam says a boyfriend jacket like Katie's is another must for your closet. "[It's] a classic. It will stay in your wardrobe," he says. "You throw it over anything."

Dayle Haddon and Ryan

L'Oreal Paris model Dayle Haddon and her daughter, Ryan, look fresh in white jeans and sequined scarves. "[White jeans] are more sophisticated and dressier than blue jeans," Adam says. "Everyone needs a sequined scarf in their wardrobe. ... It instantly changes your wardrobe and just makes everything look great."

Ryan also shows how anyone can mix high fashion with something comfortable. "Last season, it was about the statement necklace. Now, we're talking about a statement, edgy shoe," Adam says. "The army jacket is totally great—the combination of something plain with something fancy."

Cybill Shepherd and daughters

Actress Cybill Shepherd and her daughters—The Young and the Restless star Clementine Ford and soon-to-be Yale grad Ariel Oppenheim—go back to basics with three ways to wear a classic white shirt. "It is your go-to piece," Adam says. "You can never have enough white shirts."

Cybill's classic look pairs a white shirt with timeless khaki cigarette pants.

Clementine pairs a modern white shirt with a 1950s-inspired skirt. "The skirt is navy and black, which is really okay to do," Adam says. "Everyone should know that you can mix navy and black and wear it together."

Ariel's look can take her from day to night with a sexy cargo pant. "Let me just say, the cargo pant is in lieu of the sweat pant," Adam says. "Get rid of your sweat pants and wear the cargo pant. You can dress it up and wear it out."

Susan Lucci and Andreas Huber

Emmy winning actress Susan Lucci is escorted down the runway by her son, former golf pro and entrepreneur Andreas Huber.

Susan wears two of Adam's favorite basics—the wrap dress and diamond hoop earrings. "Everyone should have a wrap dress. It defines your waist and it covers any kind of flaws you have," Adam says. "[Diamond hoops] are cooler and they're hipper than pearl studs, so it's a really youthful way to sort of brighten up your face."

"And Andreas is in a cool gray suit that every man needs in his wardrobe."
