A Kilt Fanatic Embraces Pants for the First Time in 9 Years

In 2010, The Oprah Winfrey Show called on fashion expert Carson Kressley to give much-needed makeovers to a few lucky couples. Among the recipients, one couple, Linda and Clark, stood out for having long embraced kilts and Birkenstocks as their wardrobe staples. When Clark wasn't wearing one of his 17 kilts, he would don lederhosen to perform with his oompah band.

Carson outfitted Clark in a swanky suit, but after nine years of pants-free living, Clark struggled to adjust.

"This is the honest truth," he told Oprah. "Kilts are chick magnets like nothing I've ever seen before."

Even so, Oprah made her preference known for his new look. As for his wife Linda, Oprah expressed amazement at how much younger she looked after her complete transformation. For the first time in years, Linda had the confidence to look in the mirror again.

"I feel glamorous," Linda said. "And I'm also glad to not be wearing the pants in the family."
