Tyler Florence's Slow-Cooked Barbecue Pork Shoulder
In 2009, Food Network star Tyler Florence came to one mom's rescue. Tonya was worried that her lack of cooking skills would lead to unhealthy eating habits and body image issues for her two daughters, so Tyler rolled up his sleeves and took over Tonya's kitchen.
For two days, this chef and sandwich showdown competitor showed Tonya how to create healthy and delicious recipes for her family.

"Being a chef means that you get to operate what I call 'the heartbeat of the house'—and that's the kitchen," he said. "What I like to do is just sort of share ideas with people [so] that you can take the fear out of getting behind the stove."
Once Tonya started making Tyler's recipes, the daughters she once had to bribe with sugar to finish their meals were licking their Perfect Oatmeal bowls clean.
