Oprah's Lifeclass Daily Life Work: Mastering the Art of Gratitude

The goal of these workbook questions is to continue the conversation and go deeper into the lesson. Your answers are private; no one else can see them.
1
List five things you are grateful for today.
2
One of Jane Kenyon's poems begins "I got out of bed / on two strong legs. / It might have been / otherwise." Review your list from above. Is there anyone or anything you've forgotten?
3
When you feel least thankful, you are most in need of what gratitude can give you: perspective. If you're having a bad day, what is the smallest thing you can be grateful for? If you can think of nothing else, think of your breath.
4
Show your gratitude. Who can you thank today, and how will you show your appreciation?
5
Studies have shown that people who keep a gratitude journal are happier, more optimistic and even work out more. Commit to listing five things daily for one week. Then report back on how the list is making a difference in your life.
