Where in your life do you feel most "boxed in"? What’s the most boring or stifling part of your day today? What could you do that would break up your normal routine in this area?
Pick something you depend on—coffee, credit cards, constantly texting your best friend—and do without it for a day. Come back and write down what happened.
Fill in this blank: "Even though it would be wonderful, I wouldn't dare_____." If this is both legal and moral, commit to trying the thing you think you cannot do. Write down how this changes your self-concept.
What do you say about yourself, to yourself, that keeps you from leaving your comfort zone? (For example, "I'm too scared/stupid/fat/boring/etc, etc.") Feel the fear and do one brave thing anyway. Then describe, below.
How many times today did you say, "I can't"? How many times did you say, "Sure! I can do that!" or “I don't see why not!"?
As one guest said to Oprah, "If you want something you never had, you've got to do something you've never done." What do you want that you've never had? To get it, what can you do that you've never done?
Think of something you've always wanted to do, and break it down into the teeny tiniest little steps you can imagine. Then cut those in half. Write down those the steps, below. Then take one. And another...
