Oprah says that if you don't get the whisper, the message gets a bit louder. It becomes a pebble (a problem); then a brick (a crisis), then a wall falling down on you (a full-blown disaster). Describe a time you ignored a "whisper."
List three times your life's whispers were easy to hear.
When you have paid attention to your instincts and they proved accurate, how did the message arrive? What signals does your life use to lead you toward good decisions?
What makes it hard to pay attention to the whispers? What's distracting you? Why might it be important?
Have you gotten a message from your instincts that in retrospect seems obvious? If you didn't follow it, why not? What may you have to release in order to get the next one more clearly?
Do you have a "top five problems" list, issues that come up over and over again? What is your gut telling you about those problems? If you don't trust yourself, why not?
Is there anyone in your life who causes you to doubt yourself? What is your gut telling you about that person?
Which inner voices—the nice girl, the good mother, your gut instinct—do you actually follow? Which ones have led you well in the past?
