To help parents understand how their children are really feeling, Dr. Shefali Tsabary sat down with a small group of kids ages 11 to 17. In the above video, they open up about the pressure they feel to be like their mothers and fathers.

"I want parents to understand that it's their child's childhood, not their childhood," says 11-year-old Megan. "They don't have to sign their child up for what they want to do."

India, 14, tells Dr. Shefali that her parents are always trying to get her to be more serious like them. "They're trying to make me a totally different person than I am."

After seeing what these children have to say, Dr. Shefali explains how parents' egos come into play. Watch the above video to see her response.
