Dr. Robin says that your physical body hears all the thoughts, feelings and emotions that are going on inside your head—even the ones you thought you were hiding so well. "If you're living in fear, then your body is hearing it; if you're living with rage, then your body is hearing it," she says.
When your body absorbs all the thoughts that your mind is too afraid to articulate, Dr. Robin says your health worsens and your spirit becomes depleted. Instead of tuning out negative feelings of frustration, anger or unhappiness, take some time to truly listen to what your body already knows. "I want your consciousness," she says. "I want you in this moment to be awake so that your body isn't the only thing that has the information, but you have it now and you're going to take action."
