In his book, YOU: On a Diet, Dr. Oz spells out his diet plan to help you lose weight and inches off your waist. Dr. Oz talks to star fitness trainer Joel Harper about some of the expert workout advice he contributed to the book. Plus, Dr. Oz chats with Michelle, a woman who went from "heavy" to "hottie" by following the Dr. Oz diet.
Joel says all it takes is 20 minutes a day to get in shape—no gyms, no expensive equipment and no excuses necessary. Using only your own body as your gym, Joel says it's possible to improve your strength, flexibility and cardio fitness.
The key to success, Joel says, is that people have to feel that they deserve to be in great shape. "As soon as they say, 'I feel like I deserve to feel good about my body,' they do, and then they stick with the program," says Joel.
Dr. Oz also talks with Michelle, an exhausted, single mother who had let her health deteriorate. She says a radical intervention from Dr. Oz and Dr. Roizen helped her turn her life around. By following their plan, Michelle says her waist size went from 38 inches down to 27 inches.
"I really just made a shift in my own head that I wanted a different life, and I didn't embark upon a diet—I embarked upon a new lifestyle," says Michelle.
