Wouldn't it be powerful if you decided to jot down today what you would want someone to say about you when you are gone? If you were to write your own obituary, what kind of husband or wife would you say you were? What kind of parent would you say you were?
Dr. Robin says it's important to think about your own obituary because it gets you in touch with your mortality. "I want you to see what you want people to say about you," she says. "I want you to get in touch with what's real, how people really experience you."
By writing your own obituary, you can see where you are falling behind and where you have missed the mark. Then, make the decision to do whatever it takes to become that person that you aspire to be in life so that your death will be full of honor and full of integrity, Dr. Robin says.
