Are you overwhelmed by all you have to do at work and in your personal life? Sometimes, when it's all just too much and you don't feel like you can get to everything on your plate, Dr. Robin says you need to take a deep breath and concentrate on just one thing at a time. "Remind yourself on those tough days, the days when you are tired, when you are depressed … [to] just do one thing," she says.
Dr. Robin says it's a huge accomplishment if you can focus, quiet your mind and still all the chaos around you. Instead of trying to tackle everything, return only one phone call and one e-mail, she says. "You know you have a lot to get done, but you know you don't have the energy or maybe time has run out,"she says. "That is when this message of 'just do one thing' will serve you well."
