Getting children involved in public service from an early age will instill in them an ethic of giving back that will last a lifetime, Rabbi Shmuley says. It will also inspire real change in the country, he says. "Envision a United States where its citizens band together to reestablish our heritage of citizen service," Rabbi Shmuley says. "Imagine the impact a nation of volunteers could have on improving our biggest societal challenges, like poverty, homelessness, fixing our schools and pollution."
