If you watched Oprah and Gayle's cross-country road trip this summer, you probably know about Gayle's singing ability…or lack thereof! On Thanksgiving Day, Gayle talks to Roger Love, voice coach to the stars, for a private singing lesson!

Roger has coached dozens of Hollywood stars in singing, including Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix in the Johnny Cash biopic, Walk the Line. Roger says Gayle has the potential to be a good singer because she has a beautiful, distinct voice. "The most important thing you can have if you want to be a really great singer, especially a successful singer, is a voice that is recognizable," he says. "You already have a sound to your speaking voice that works."

Roger walks Gayle through a series of voice exercises. "The reason that most people think that they can't sing is because they have bad technique," he says. "They think that they have to sing everything down low…or up high, and it's not true. There's not just two voices—there's actually another voice, which we call 'middle voice.'"

By the end of the show, Gayle—and her producing staff—are singing "O, Holy Night" in unison! "This is really bad radio," Gayle says, "and I am praying Oprah doesn't hear this or we will all be handing in our resumes!"
