It was a working weekend for Gayle, who says she flew to California for an O, The Oprah Magazine cover shoot with her best friend Oprah. Now she's back in Chicago, where Gayle says the Chicago Marathon is making headlines after it was called off early because of unseasonably hot weather.

Taking note that October is breast cancer awareness month, Gayle talks about the importance of self-exams for women at risk of developing breast cancer. "Everybody I know has been affected [by breast cancer] whether personally or they know someone who has, so I don't think we can talk about this enough," she says.
