According to Laura Day, author of The Circle: How the Power of a Single Wish Can Change Your Life, anyone can make their wishes come true. Laura talks with Oprah about the power of a wish and using intuition and embodiment to get what you want in life.
In order to get what you want out of life, Laura says you must first formulate a wish—something that you desperately want in your life. Laura says you need to commit to your wish until completion by following a few steps that she outlines in The Circle:
Intentionality: Laura says "intentionality" means taking responsibility for the wish that you want to come true. "It is saying, 'I choose this, I will create this,'" she says. "I may feel powerless to create this—I may feel like it is completely outlandish, I may feel like I don't deserve it—but I am setting my intent and taking responsibility for wanting this and creating this."
Embodiment: By practicing embodiment, Laura says you experience your wish as if it were already true. "You feel it, see it, taste it, hear it, smell it—literally see it around you," she says. Laura says when you are fully embodying your wish, others will take notice. "When you 'embody,' you are automatically sending out a different message to the world around you," she says.
Ritual: "Ritual is a way of combating patterns," Laura says. "If you change your patterns, you change your life." Changing your pattern doesn't have to be a big ordeal, Laura says—you can just change one small thing in everyday life. "Move something in your home, change your route home or set an extra place at your table for the lover you want to attract," Laura says. "Really give a sacred meaning to those daily acts."
Making Space: Letting go of old relationships or bad experiences that hurt you is an important part of making your wishes come true. "To have a new you and new life, you let go of an old you," she says. "Making space—allowing yourself to clear things out of your life—is a very important thing to do consciously."
