The Importance of Family
Rabbi Shmuley Boteach
According to Rabbi Shmuley, it's important to teach your children about the importance of family. As he explains in Chapter 7 of his book 10 Conversations You Need to Have with Your Children, you can inspire your children to be good people by having heartfelt, meaningful conversations with them often.

Rabbi Shmuley says family members in many American households live together as complete and utter strangers. "We have to begin to really foster healthy and inspired families," Rabbi Shmuley says. "They are the people we most care about."

Rabbi Shmuley shares several ways to connect with your children each week:
  • Have dinner with your children at least five times a week.
  • Make sure you are always at home and available at least one night per week.
  • Read your children a bedtime story.
  • Try to do something valuable together every single day. Connect on something that has real value.

Today's Shmuleyism
"If you put the urgent before the important, later when there is nothing urgent there will be nothing left that is important."
